I'm a middle-aged guy raising a family in Arlington, VA. I enjoy making stuff that bridges the digital and physical worlds, especially audio gear. I read a lot, mostly fiction and tech news. I dabble in synthesizers, 3d printing, and homelab. I enjoy gaming, but mostly away from the computer.

As a career data scientist I've worked in tech hubs and war zones. I've evaluated humanitarian programs with panel regression and tracked meta-narratives with SNA and NLP. Mostly I've learned that your models are only as good as your data, and your data are only as good as your respect for the people they represent.
